There are over 700 different strains of the Cannabis plant and that number increases each year as growers crossbreed and modify original varieties. Different strains of Cannabis have a wide variety of characteristic smells and tastes associated with them. Accelerated Labs utilizes Headspace gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to quantify 39 terpenes commonly found in Cannabis strains. Combining the terpene profile with the cannabinoid profile can provide a detailed chemical fingerprint of a strain.
