Heavy Metals Testing

Plants in general have been shown to uptake heavy metals and other elements from the soil and/or water in which they are grown. While less common, Cannabis can also be contaminated when exposed to fertilizers or pesticides that contain these heavy metals. Heavy metals, if present, are a concern that likely will not be removed through the extraction process. Excessive human exposure to heavy metals has detrimental consequences on the body and can cause serious health problems including neurological damage. Accelerated Labs uses ICP Mass Spectrometry to test for Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, and Mercury among others in botanicals.

In addition, we can test for the following additional 27 metals to help inform plant uptake of micro-nutrients or other metals of concern:

  • Aluminum (Al)
  • Antimony (Sb)
  • Barium (Ba)
  • Beryllium (Be)
  • Bismuth (Bi)
  • Boron (B)
  • Calcium (Ca)
  • Chromium (Cr)
  • Cobalt (Co)
  • Copper (Cu)
  • Iron (Fe)
  • Magnesium (Mg)
  • Manganese (Mn)
  • Molybdenum (Mo)
  • Nickel (Ni)
  • Phosphorus (P)
  • Potassium (K)
  • Selenium (Se)
  • Silver (Ag)
  • Sodium (Na)
  • Strontium (Sr)
  • Thallium (Tl)
  • Tin (Sn)
  • Titanium (Ti)
  • Uranium (U)
  • Vanadium (V)
  • Zinc (Zn)

Accelerated Cannabis Labs offers this service for all Cannabis products. Should there be any metal of interest not included in this list, please Contact Us and our scientists will build a method of analysis for you.
